I’ve been considering this LG for my new living room set because a coworker of mine at Dish can’t stop raving about his LG, and (I know this is superficial) I love the look of this one’s frame. I’m upgrading because I’m finally getting a Hopper whole-home DVR next week, and since it’ll be sending every room an HD feed, I’d definitely prefer to have an HD set in every one of those room. Thing is, this has several features I wouldn’t really use much: like the Magic Remote for instance, I’ll end up using the Hopper’s remote for everything; same with the Smart TV interface, the Hopper’s menus are smooth and easy to navigate, and the receiver has all the apps I would use (such as Pandora); and I doubt I’d even use 3D more than the rare occasion. So with all that in mind, I think I’ll have to think about it. This looks like a great TV, but I don’t want to pay for a bunch of features I’ll likely never use.
